Learning how to properly take care of your hardwood floors is vital in maintaining and protecting the longevity of your brand new investment.
1. Sweep your floors daily with a broom, or dust mop, to remove any dust, dirt, or debris in order to prevent any scratches.
2. Try to vacuum your floors (on the bare floor setting) at least once a week
3. Once a month, clean the floors with a safe floor cleaner that won't hurt the wood floor itself. Be sure to use a damp mop, or microfiber cloth. Water is wood flooring's worst enemy.
4. At most, sand and finish your wood floors once every 10 years to keep your floors looking new, and beautiful!
Tips to remember:
Use a humidifier in the winter months to keep gaps minimized
Don't over wax a wood floor
Wipe up spills immediately
Use rugs at entry ways from outside to prevent bringing in debris
